Which Four Teams Will Advance In The Champions League

The Champions League draw is set, and the final eight teams know who they will be playing in the next round. The clubs left are Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Napoli, AC Milan, Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Benfica.

As the tournament narrows down, the road to the final gets excruciatingly more difficult, but it is so close for those eight clubs. These are the teams that will remain in the competition once those two legs are done.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid will likely be licking their lips, as they were paired up with a Chelsea team, that has been disappointing in domestic play. Chelsea are still in the fight for the Champions league, as they just got past Dortmund. The Blues look as though they are a better team than in the last few months, but after Real Madrid’s destruction of Liverpool, they will have no fear, and no doubt that they can easily get past this Chelsea side that is struggling similarly to Liverpool this season.

Manchester City

In the most anticipated matchup of the round of eight, is Manchester City and Bayern Munich. Both these clubs are the top two teams in the betting odds favorite to win the entire tournament. However, it seems as though Manchester City are on too hot of a run, in the Champions league, to lose to Bayern right now.

Manchester City are coming off of a 7-0 victory over RB Leipzig in the second leg of the Champions league. RB Leipzig are a terrific team, that just tied Bayern Munich months ago. If Manchester City can dominate one of the best Bundesliga clubs, they should be able to scrape a win over two legs against the best that German Football has to offer.

Inter Milan

Likely to be one of the hardest games to call in the round, is Inter Milan versus Benfica. On paper, Inter Milan are the better squad but they’ve been a bit inconsistent in Serie. Milan were able to get past Porto, but only scoring one goal through two legs. Benfica can score goals galore, and it will be a interesting tactic of a heavily defensive side versus a heavily offensive side. However, due to the talent that they have, Inter Milan should just barely scrape past benfica.

Napoli

Napoli will likely be extremely happy with getting paired against AC milan. Napoli have already defeated AC Milan earlier in the season, and we’ll play them again April 2nd in Serie A. Napoli have looked like the best team by a mile in the Italian league, and should have quite the familiarity with AC Milan. This looks like a year that Napoli could genuinely win the Scudetto, and the Champions league, to have one of their greatest seasons of all time.
